INDOOR LACROSSE

Winter 2016; Midwest Orthopedic Sports Complex - Brookfield, WI

Geared for boy's and girl's in grades 3 - 8th, this instructional program is designed to build a strong foundation for lacrosse. Through skills and drills, coaching and scrimmages, our goal is to have the players become more comfortable, confident and knowledgeable about the game of lacrosse. The box lacrosse environment is key to building strong skills used in both the indoor and outdoor game.

Youth sessions will be fifty-five minutes in length, include skill development, understanding the game, situational concepts and then demonstrating those skills through a controlled scrimmage. There will be three coaches on the field at each session.

HIGH SCHOOL SEASON WRAP-UP

The Blazers wrapped up the season with their end of season team banquet.  Among the varsity team they honored their lone senior Brandon Biersack, along with other award winners.

Team MVP goes to Kevin Maxey who lead the team with 76 points, 34 goals and 42 assist along with 27 ground balls.  Kevin was ranked #6 overall for points, and #2 for assist in the state by maxpreps.com.

Blazer Award - Someone who respects the game, respects his teammates, respects himself.  A teacher of the game and mentor on our team.  One that has a positive attitude and is willing to work hard to achieve their goals. Brandon Biersack is the 2016 Blazer Award recipient.

The evening wrapped up with the coaches challenge for the summer.

"I just wanted to challenge the upperclassmen  to become better men and better players.  I want them to make an effort to coach and mentor the underclassmen to make our team a better whole.  I want to challenge the underclassmen to work on the 'uncomfortable' things this summer (weak hand, dodging, footwork, game IQ).  I also want the underclassmen to push the upperclassmen in work ethic and summer ball."
